Bhote Koshi Power Company Pvt. Ltd. (BKPC), is the rising brand in the Nepal power sectors.
Bhote Koshi Power Company Private Limited (BKPC) is the first privately funded, run of the river power project in Nepal. It is situated in Sindhupalchowk District of central Nepal and is approximately 110 kilometers northeast of Kathmandu. The Project is a 36 MW power plant with 2 turbine/generator units. The promoters of BKPC are Himal International Energy Private Limited (HIEPL), Himal International Power Corp Private Limited (HIPC), Tara Fund Private Limited (Tara Fund) and Montgomery Watson Harza (MWH).
The Upper Bhote Koshi Hydroelectric Project has resumed commercial operation from 22 Dec 2019 after substantial completion of the reconstruction works through an EPC Contract and a separate TG Contract for recovery of the turbine and generators. The project had suffered damages due to rock falls and consequent rupture of the penstock during the aftershock of the Gorkha Earthquake on 26 April 2015 and was undergoing restoration works which was nearing completion, when the project was further and substantially damaged by the GLOF (Glacial Lake Outburst Flood) of July 2015.

BKPC was incorporated on June 21, 1996, under the Nepalese Company Act, 2021 of Nepal, with the primary objective of the generation and distribution of hydroelectric power in Nepal. The detailed objectives of BKPC are to develop, construct, own and operate the UBKHEP which is the first privately funded, run of the river hydroelectric power project in Nepal. Its plant is situated in the Sindhupalchowk District of central Nepal and is approximately 110 kilometers northeast of Kathmandu. The UBKHEP is a 45 MW power plant with 2 turbine/generator units.

The Upper Bhote Koshi Hydroelectric Project (UBKHEP) is a run-of-the-river scheme constructed on the Bhote Koshi River, a tributary of the Sun Koshi River, in Sindhupalchok District of center Nepal. Located approximately 110 kilometers northeast of Kathmandu near the Sino-Nepal Boarder, The project has a headworks with a side intake approximately 100 meters downstream of the confluence of the Bhote Koshi River and the Jung Khola near Tatopani. The Project has an installed capacity of 45 MW, with 2 turbine / generator units.
